Wilson Sporting Goods today announces the REVO football, the brand’s first ball engineered specifically for Flag Football. The launch comes at a pivotal time for the sport as the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) World Championships takes place this week in Düsseldorf, Germany, offering teams a first opportunity to qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Following two years of consultation with IFAF member federations and extensive testing with the best athletes in the sport, REVO will serve as the Official Ball of IFAF Flag Football, World Championships, and all international competitions including the Olympic games.

To meet the demands of a faster and more pass-driven sport, Wilson’s Research & Development team spent years testing and redefining a football built specifically for flag football. In 2023, a prototype was developed for athlete feedback, ranging from high school to college, in addition to the top, international flag football quarterbacks in the game across Men’s and Women’s. Their input helped shape REVO into a football engineered to improve grip, control and throwing performance. The REVO Football features a unified size designed for Men’s and Women’s competitive and professional flag football.

Key features include:

• Engineered for Speed: REVO combines a smaller profile with official football weight, creating an optimized size-to-weight ratio that maximizes spin rate and helps players deliver passes to their targets faster, in the fast-paced game of flag football.
• Optimized stripe design: Added grip points allow for quicker throws and better catches, while also providing better visual tracking in low-light conditions.
• Zero-Prep Leather: This first-of-its-kind leather delivers a soft, broken-in feel right out of the box, with no break-in or prep required.

To continue empowering the best athletes in the game, Wilson also announced the signing of Ashlea Klam, center and defensive back for the United States National team, and Diana Flores, quarterback and captain of the Mexico national team, as their first Wilson Global Flag Ambassadors. Both athletes will compete for their respective national teams at the IFAF Flag Football World Championships, bringing two of the sport’s most recognizable players into Wilson’s efforts to grow flag football worldwide.
